Each Jury establishes their own Criteria for "truly outstanding design in the puppet theatre" based on some very general design guidelines

The Arlyn Award is for an individual production rather than a designer's body of work

Entries consist of:

a) A portfolio containing: at least three design illustrations and five photographs of a single production premiered in the calendar years 2008 or 2009,

b)  A  brief outline of the designer's intent and,

c) A video, edited to 10 minutes maximum, showing how effectively the designs work in the a performance. The video may be on videotape or DVD but must be in either PAL or NTSC format.

To ensure unbiased judging, entry materials should not have identification. All items are catalogued and numbered before the Jury receives them.

d) On a separate page provide the following details:

     Name of Designer:
     Production Title:
     Premier Date:
     Name of Director:
     Name of Puppet Troupe:
     Mailing Address:
     e-mail Address (if available):
     Age Level of Target Audience:
     Touring or Non-touring Production:

Only one entry per person per year will be accepted.
